The arrival of a letter from a solicitor asking her to make an appointment about an inheritance is a shock for Sophie. She has been left a bungalow and savings by her unknown Great Aunt Jane. There is a condition to the inheritance, Sophie must agree to a meeting with her father who she has never seen. She knows that if she tells her mother she will be very upset and not want them to meet.
This is the turning point that Sophie needs to make changes to her life. She has been in the same job for years, has had an unreliable boyfriend and her life has become very predictable.
After being dumped on Valentines Day she decides to take on the services of an Architect to help her plan changes to the bungalow, but no work can take place until she has met her father.
