She decides to hide herself away in Crickleford in Devon, a place her family used to visit for holidays when she was a child.  She wants to keep her identity a secret and so tells some tall stories about her past and why she is there.

By accident Emma ends up looking after a dog, then cats, whilst their owners are away on holiday.  By word of mouth more people ask for her services and she sets herself up in business as a pet sitter.  Most of the jobs goes well but then a local reporter wants to write a story and include information about Emma.  She finds him very attractive, but can't risk being found out and she doesn't trust journalists.

Together Connie and Della set out to take their revenue on Jimmy and steal away all his good workers.

The Couple Upstairs by Ann Girdharry

Newly married couple Ellie and Rob Mitchell have bought a house together in Lewes where Rob grew up.  Ellie is a successful romantic novel writer and Rob is a cardiac surgeon.  Their new house has a self contained downstairs apartment.  As Ellie will be working from home they decide to let the apartment to a single person so that there will be someone else in the house.

Sabrina is a single mum of 5 year old Maddy, so not the ideal person.  But when they meet her and find that she is trying to start a new life away from an abusive ex-husband, Ellie agrees that she can move in.

Ellie tries to include Sabrina in her group of friends so that she is not isolated.  Ellie then becomes suspicious of Sabrina and doesn't think everything is quite as she has been led to believe.  Also some information about Rob and the death of his first wife comes to light.  All is not what it seems between the 3 of them as they all have secrets.

This was a free Kindle book which I had downloaded.  I enjoyed the story, but towards the end one of the characters who is mentioned, but doesn't actually have a part in the story, starts off being called Olivier, then the name changes to Antoine, and then he goes back to being Olivier.  This was quite off-putting.

This is the fourth book in the Pebble Cove Teahouse Mystery series.

Rosemary is still researching the details of Asher's death.

Following a writers workshop which has been held in the area, one of the writers is found dead by the pier.  The next day another member of the local community is also found dead.  Both have been poisoned.  Rosemary and Asher realise that there are physical similarities between the two dead men and with the help of the local ghosts they keep a close eye on other men who also match the description, including the local Chief of Police, in case one of them could be the next target.  They think there may be a serial killer.  Chief Clemenson has already told Rosemary to keep out of the investigation.
