A Murder to Die For by Stevyn Colgan

Nasely holds an annual celebration event for Agnes Crabbe, a deceased murder mystery writer who used to live in the village.  Many people, both men and women, attend the event dressed as her lady detective Miss Millicent Cutter.  There are a number of Agnes Crabbe fan clubs and they all turn up and there is a lot of rivalries between them.

One fan is found murdered, but with so many people dressed as Millicent Cutter it is difficult to decide who has been murdered and who the murderer is.  Then other fans and celebrities who are attending the event also go missing.

Many of the fans take the opportunity to use their detective skills to try and work out who the murderer is and where the missing people have gone. The police are trying to manage the crime scene but with so many Miss Cutters in the village it becomes a bit tricky.

A Witch Hunt in Whitby by Helen Cox

Eleven days after finding a purple 'V' painted on the front door, the person in that house is murdered.   The first victim had cleaned the paint off their door and so the police didn't immediately realise there was a connection and that they had a serial killer on the loose in Yorkshire.  Each murder victim had an association with the occult and was found with 2 puncture marks on their neck and had lost some blood.  It was as if they were the victim of a vampire.

Private investigators Kitt Hartley and Grace Edwards have 11 days to solve the murders and to keep Ruby Barnett safe after she has found a V painted on her door.  They head to Whitby as that is the central point from all the murder locations.
