A Spring Affair by Millie Johnson

In a dentist waiting room Lou Winter picks up a magazine and reads an article about removing clutter.  Back at work she clears out her desk drawers. This makes her feel good.  At home she start off with a small kitchen drawer.  Things that have not been used and won't be used within the next year are all placed into a bin bag.  The more clutter Lou gets rid of the better she feels.  She orders a skip as she has accumulated so many bags of clutter.

Her husband Phil can't understand why she is spending time doing this when she should be looking after him.

The more Lou sorts and declutters, the more time she spends realising that she is not happy in her life and marriage.  Phil really doesn't appreciate her and he makes nasty comments.  Then she suspects that he may be having another affair.  She thinks back to the magazine article which says "Don't let life's clutter dictate to you. Throw it away and take back the control."  She is going to make more changes and take back control of her life.

The Dress by Sophie Nicholls

Mother and daughter, Fabio and Ella Moreno, arrive in York to set up a vintage dress shop.  Fabio is very elegant and has secrets she does not want to reveal.  Teenage Ella just wants to fit in at the new school she has to attend and to make some friends.

Fabio has a talent with clothing and accessories and can make people feel really good about themselves.  She alters clothes to fit perfectly and also makes clothes in a vintage style.  Within the hems and pockets she sews small words and messages.  When Ella was small she had been told that these words held magic spells.

When local woman Jean Cuthworth holds a garden party lots of the guests go to Fabio's shop to get their dresses, they all want something special, but to look different.  The most special dress of all is made for Jean Cuthworth.

This Could Change Everything by Jill Mansell

Just for a laugh, and not to be seen by anyone else, Essie and best friend Scarlett write a very true 'round robin style' Christmas message to each other about their lives during the year. Unfortunately Essie's message gets emailed to everyone in her contacts list and not just to Scarlett as planned.

Essie ends up without a home, a boyfriend or a job.  All are lost due to the message which goes viral on the internet.

After spending a few nights sleeping on her friends bedroom floor, Essie meets Zillah who offers out her attic flat to rent.  As part of the deal with the flat Essie is to help Zillah when needed and runs a few errands.  She then starts job hunting and meets the one person she never wishes to see again.

Holidate by Monica Murphy

The Sullivan family own a Christmas tree farm.  As the parents are wanting to step back from the business they need their eldest son Charlie to take on a bigger public relations role.  Although Charlie is good at managing the business and working with the trees he does not like Christmas.

Charlie's mum manages to convince Candice Gains to take Charlie along to some Christmas meetings and events.  Candice loves Christmas and as it is a time of year when she misses her mum, she keeps herself really busy and throws herself into as many Christmas committees as she can.

At first Candice is convinced that Charlie is really grumpy but the more she gets to know him the more she starts to like him and realise that he is actually a really lovely man.
