In a dentist waiting room Lou Winter picks up a magazine and reads an article about removing clutter. Back at work she clears out her desk drawers. This makes her feel good. At home she start off with a small kitchen drawer. Things that have not been used and won't be used within the next year are all placed into a bin bag. The more clutter Lou gets rid of the better she feels. She orders a skip as she has accumulated so many bags of clutter.
Her husband Phil can't understand why she is spending time doing this when she should be looking after him.
The more Lou sorts and declutters, the more time she spends realising that she is not happy in her life and marriage. Phil really doesn't appreciate her and he makes nasty comments. Then she suspects that he may be having another affair. She thinks back to the magazine article which says "Don't let life's clutter dictate to you. Throw it away and take back the control." She is going to make more changes and take back control of her life.
