Two 10 year old girls disappear from their primary school in Heighington, Lincolnshire. DS Karen Hart investigates the case along with her new boss DI Scott Morgan.
Karen is convinced that there are similarities with a case they had failed to solve 18 months before when a 19 year old woman vanished. The difference in age is a concern, but Karen just can't let the subject drop.
As they interview parents and local people who may be involved, the police unearth lots of lies they have been told. Days go by and the girls are still not found, the likelihood of finding them alive is getting smaller and smaller.
This is the first book in the Detective Karen Hart series.
