Twenty years ago Sarah Crosswhite disappeared. There was no body, but a murder trial took place and Edmund House was convicted and sent to prison. Sarah's sister Tracy was never convinced of all the facts. She had been a chemistry teacher at the local school but changed jobs and trained to be a homicide detective with Seattle PD to help with her own investigations into what had happened to Sarah.
A body is found buried in a shallow grave in an area which had been flooded for many years. It is confirmed to be Sarah Crosswhite.
Tracy visits Edmund House in prison and helps him apply for an appeal. She wants to get the case of her sister's murder re-opened and find the answers to the questions she has been searching for.
This is the first in a series of Tracy Crosswhite stories.
