Wanting to get away from her soon to be ex-husband in London, Kate buys a small cottage in Nightingale Square in Norwich. She expects to be able to hide herself away but her new neighbours have other ideas. They immediately include her in everything they have planned for the village and their idea to start a community garden.
Everyone is horrified when the local Victorian mansion house, Prosperous Place, is bought by property developers. There is so much history tied up in the house and Kate is encouraged to go and have a look in the garden by Harold the oldest resident in the Square. She is found trespassing by Luke the new owner.
Thankfully Luke's ideas for the house are not what the villagers were expecting.
